29...28...27...

What do those numbers symbolize?

My age? (I wish)

Years teaching? (not yet)

They actually symbolize the final days of the school year.  As I write this post (Tuesday night) we have 27 days remaining in this school year which means we have spent the last 333 days together learning, laughing, and loving being around each other. As I have mentioned before I was really nervous, yet incredibly excited about having a looping class. However, I can honestly say that you have alleviated all of those fears and and surpassed any expectation that I had of our time together.  Although I know that you are ready to go, it will be hard to let you go on that final day in June.

It's a weird thing, teaching. You are partnered up with a group of people who you will spend six hours a day, five days a week, for 180 days (and for us-double that). Then, some warm day in June as the sun blazes and the desks empty, it's done! That's it! We say goodbye knowing that we will never be part of the same group again. WEIRD, right?

The end of the year is a time to reminisce, to look back at the good times we had together. Let's look back at all we have learned and the fun we have had.  In your comments below answer the following question:

What's one experience you had in FOURTH grade that you hope to remember for a long time?

The first day of 4th Grade!

  5. That one memory I want to keep for the rest my life from fourth grade was the first day of school and you got sorted by the sorting hat into our houses. I would really love to keep that memory because it was the end of kindergarten first grade 2nd grade and third grade and it was bright new start at fourth and fifth grade with the teacher that would teach me like nobody else ever does which is Mr.Font! I would also really love to keep that memory because it was just the beginning or the start of our adventures with Mr. Font. Plus it was nice seeing your friends back at school again! And that's a when didn't have to learn we just had to figure out what to do in this classroom well a very new and questioning classroom. Well that was my memory that I really would like to keep with me for the other journeys that I might have or should I say will have.

  6. Ah, flash back huh. Well it's very hard to say my memories and what my favorites were. But i do have one special memory that i won't forget and dare I say one of my favorites. It all started five minutes before school started. I remember waiting out in the hallway being the first ones there. As i soon heard the bell ring i instantly felt like i needed to be perfect. I needed to be perfect because i was going to be in your class, but throughout the days weave had together, I have learned that perfect dose not matter. I remember when I walked into that classroom and you greeted me with a very huge beaming white smile and have spoke. If you didn't remember, ( I did ) when you spoke to me i was shocked i didn't speak back. I was staring at you like Jada reading a chapter that says Pubrina are actually becoming official. It was one of the most best chapters starting in my two years with you, but you are right. Sadly these chapters are coming to a end! I also ember that I was the first one to be picked from the sorting hat ( i think you did that because i was saying i didn't want to go first ) anyways, i was super excited and shocked that I was sorted the head of Gryfinndor. It was crazy! I will miss you and the class very much. I have had a good a very spectacular two years with the class and you, and have a good next year! - Caitlin
