This weekend I went to see the new, live-action Cinderella movie. I have to say that I truly enjoyed this new interpretation of a classic fairy tale. It stars two characters from Downton Abbey (Devan, Lady Rose and Daisy are both in the film) and an actress from the Harry Potter films. The Cinderella movie also happens to be directed by he actor who played Gilderoy Lockhart. Add in that it is a Disney film and you've got my interest.
I won't give a review of the film incase you haven't seen it yet.
However, as the final credits rolled it got me thinking about some of the classic Disney films and this new interpretation of the animated film. As you know, I am a HUGE fan of Disney films and have been since I was a little kid. Although Cinderella is not one of my favorite Disney films I can appreciate it as a classic, a marvel in animation for the time period, and a love story. I definitely left the theatre singing songs from the Disney Version of Cinderella and wondering-What is your favorite Disney film?
This video is of one of my favorite songs from the original animated classic-ENJOY!
And they lived happily ever after,

Well, I am also a HUGE fan of Disney films and I love all movies, although there is one that I enjoy most out of all the movies, and my favorite movie is Mulan. This is my favorite movie because Mulan does it fo what she is told just because she is a girl. She wants to become a warrior like the other men so she could fight, but the other men will not allow this. So she does something crazy and brave and pretends to be a boy so she could fight with them. And when her identity is revealed she still is brave enough to say she wnated to be a warrior. I love this movie also because it's about doing what you want and Being brave enough to stand up to other people. What's your fav route movie? #disneyfilms!

Interesting choice! Although I am not a huge Mulan fan I very much agree with your analysis above. Plus, who doesn't love Mushu?

I love that movie too Caitlin! And even though it isn't my favorite movie I think it has a great message. My favorite Disney movie would have to be Aladdin. Aladdin is my favorite Disney movie because it is such an entertaining movie that also has a great message with princess Jasmine and Aladdin. When Jasmine doesn't want to marry Aladdin because she thinks he is a snobby prince he still tries to convince her that he is different which she realizes when they are flying on the magic carpet. I also love Aladdin because of Jasmines awesome pet tiger! I mean like who doesn't want a pet tiger (COME ON PEOPLE YOU KNOW THIS IS TRUE STUFF!)

DeleteOh sorry was just singing A Whole New World from Aladdin. This is one of my favorite Disney movies and is from the period known as the Second Disney Renaissance of the early 90's, a time when I was at prime Disney viewing age between 7-10 years old. This is such a GREAT movie and one I know backwards and forward. Who is your favorite character in the film Jada? Personally I love the Genie and Abu! #AladdinFavorites

I have to say that I love Jasmine because of her sassy attitude to people who think of her as just someone to give away in marriage but her kind soul to people who resects her as a person not just as a wife.

Man you guys know I don't have very much Disney experience so... I would have to say I enjoy the movie Mary Poppins which is a Disney favorite. I enjoy this because it takes place in London and the caters are british ( as you know I am from there) so there are things that I get in there that everyone else might not get. I enjoy that its about two mischievous children who can't keep a nanny with out them screaming and the parents are disappointed then one day when she comes from the sky they get unique nanny who leads them on crazy adventures filled with magic like having tea on the roof or jumping inside of paintings. Overall I really love this movie and it warms my heart.

Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious! And yes, I do know how to spell that word! Zach, this is my absolute nonanimated Disney film! When I was little, like 4ish, I wanted a nanny who could take me on adventures as Mary Poppins had done for Jane and Michael Banks. This movie is loaded with fantastic songs that I love! Did you know that Walt Disney's favorite song is from this film? He loved Feed the Birds and so do I! When I was in England we visited St. Paul's cathedral and I sat on the steps and sang Feed the Birds aloud to anyone passing by. Don't believe me, ask Mrs. Cetnar to see the video! It was such a blast and was inspired by this film!
DeleteThis is a FAVORITE of mine! And it looks like I will have to give you some Disney homework to brush up on. Can't let you leave room #20 without being exposed to all things Disney. I have all the films for you to borrow!!!!!

Yes!! This is my absolute favorite disney film, its always so cool to see them , jumping into pictures, having tea on the ceiling, cleaning up the nursery by snapping there fingers and getting sucked up the chimney. I agree Feed the birds is a great song but my would be... Sucalifragilisticexpialidous because every time it comes on I can't help but singing along. FUN FACT my Grandma can sing supercalifadu- you know what I mean, but she can sing it backwards! I just think thats so cool! I had no idea feed the birds was walt disney's favorite song! Toppins toppins!!!
