This quote got me thinking about all the books I have read so far in my life. Books that made me laugh (HA!). Books that made me cry (pass the tissues please). Books I don't even remember reading (what?). Books that changed the way I see the world (WOW!).
So my blogging friends I ask of you-
If you had to pick only ONE book as your absolute favorite book which title would you choose and WHY is it your favorite?
-Mr. Font
Well lets see............Ahah! My absolute favorite book I have read is called " The Land Of Stories The second book" of the series because it didn't just have me on one emotion it had me on different kinds of emotions. for intense I remember in one of the chapters I read was about two twins in the book not going to see each other forever ( or so they think ) because the girl twin is going to be the mini FairyGodMother, and the boy is just going to be a normal person in a real world so that's means they were going to be in different dimensions for a long time which got me very gloomy and I was crying! And i also remember in another chapter they came to a magical dimension to save there mother from a evil enchanted woman and they found the mother, but they didn't hurt the enchanted woman they just helped her become a better person. And in another chapter it was very confusing to understand because they were all over the place about being in two different dimensions at one time which got my face to turn a bit of a confused look! Hopefully a person can relate to my book too! Have a magical day :)
ReplyDeleteI really want to read your book now!
DeleteI agree ( which ever Olivia you may possibly be ) the book is very interesting and i think you should read it too! If you want me too i can lend the book to you after ( which Olivia ) is done with the goddess girls series! :)
DeleteThis book has always been on my "to read" list. The problem is the list is too long! Your comment here just made it jump higher on the list.

Mr.Font-
DeleteI'm glad it is! It's a very enjoyable book and although it is super long I still think it was worth it!
My favorite book is called the I Survived the Tsunami. That is my absolute favorite book because the novel has so much action, excitement, and some devastating parts. In one part of the novel (a exciting part) the main character found his dog and part of his faimly and the main character took good care of himself and everyone who was with him.(the main character is a boy). I also remember a part of the book that he was dreaming about how the tsunami is going to happen. He also was visiting China for a vacation and visiting his grandma. I hope you enjoyed reading this comment and I hope I inspired you guys to read that book too!
ReplyDeleteI also enjoy the I survived books but my favorite is I survived the 911
DeleteHow funny? Did your enjoyment of I Survived the Tsunami impact your enjoyment of Escaping the GIant Wave in any way?
DeleteJust curious,
Mr. Font
Yes by A lot !
DeleteMy favorite book is called Cosmic. I enjoyed reading that book a lot. It had a lot of action in it. The book was a boy whose name is Liam and he said he was going on a school trip but actually going to space from China. Liam had to go through challenges to prove he could go to space. It had a lot of action in it too! I hope I inspired you to read this book!
ReplyDeleteJules this book sounds like a very interesting one! Although I do love space
DeleteMy favorite book is Justin Case: School, Drool, and Other Daily Disasters. The book is about a student who is entering third grade and is VERY nervous about it...and about just about everything else. I found this book the summer before I starting teaching third grade. That is one of the reasons the book is so special to me. I was also nervous to be teaching third grade, just as the character was nervous about going into third grade! Through out the book, Justin learns and grows on his many adventures. Each time I read this book, I laugh, learn and grow as well. That is why Justin Case is my favorite book.
ReplyDeleteI really think that is inspiring to go into third grade teaching. Maybe if I'm a third grade teacher when I grow up, I'll read that book.
DeleteOlivia,
DeleteReading your post has filled my bucket. Not only are you excited about one of my favorite books, but you are also thinking about maybe becoming a teacher. I know your students would like Just Case: School, Drool and Other Daily Disaster as much as mine did!
Miss Weinstein

ReplyDeleteOkay Friends, My turn!
ReplyDeleteYou may not be surprised to hear that my favorite book of all time is "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone". What might surprise you is the reason that I love that book so much. To me, HPSS is the book that started it all. It's the book that took me to Hogwarts for the first time, taught me that I don't want to be in Slytherin, and that Flying could be a class. It's not my favorite story of the series, not my favorite adventure for Harry, Ron, and Hermione, and I don't believe it is the best written of the series; it is what the book stands for that makes it my favorite. It opened up a whole new world to me and made me feel like I was a student at Hogwarts. Had I never picked up HPSS I would have missed out on an amazing 9 year adventure experiencing the world J.K. Rowling created right along side Harry, Ron, and Hermione. Another reason why I love this book is that almost every year I get to introduce a world that I love to 24ish 10 year-olds sitting wide-eyed in front of me waiting for the moment in which they get to read Harry Potter. I LOVE turning the lights off and reading to you about the Forbidden Forest. I LOVE reading about Harry's family in the Mirror of Erised and watching your eyes get watery along with mine. I LOVE when Mrs. Dzugan or Mrs. Colucci stop by while we are reading and their faces light up because they want to listen to a little of Harry too. I love being the "owl" that delivers your Hogwarts letter to you. By my count that's approximately 220 students that I have personally enrolled in Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and it all started with a book, but a book that is so much more than a book to me.
Thanks for listening 2nd years!

Mr. Font that comment was truly wonderful! I also felt that emotion when we started the HP series it was that one strong feeling that was like when core novel was over you almost felt disconnected from your friends for a whole day. And don't get me started when the book screamed in the Sorcerers stone and I almost peed lol! # Jada had an accident
DeleteI am glad you enjoyed your first (and second) years at Hogwarts!

Hi, my favorite book is Dragon Rider because it keeps me excited to read. It is long but it was worth the read.It kept me wanting to read after I logged out. It kept my skills refreshed. Overall I really enjoyed Dragon Rider and I hope you want to read it.
ReplyDeleteWhat, specifically in the book, makes you want to keep reading?
DeleteJust curious-Mr. Font
The blindside gives me chills because the main character is one of my favorite football players. And I feel really bad for him.
ReplyDeleteRobert I love the Blind Side I've seen the movie like 101 times because of my dad but I bet the book is even better !
DeleteIs this also a book? I have seen the movie and, like Jada, really enjoy it, but I never read the book.
DeleteRobert- can you fill us in further about what makes the book worth reading?
-Mr. Font
Thanks Liv I enjoyed your comment too. I think I might read the I Survived books after I finish the Percy Jackson series!
ReplyDeleteFRIENDS- Remember not to give away any important plot points when you are talking about books. We wouldn't want to ruin it for anyone who hasn't had the opportunity to read it yet.
ReplyDeleteTHANKS!
Mr. Font
I truly enjoy HPSS two even thou it is not my favorite book.
ReplyDelete-Thomas
I enjoy the Kingdom Keepers seven because it has a lot of big events and ceps me on the end of my toes! But make sure to read the others first!
ReplyDelete-Thomas
